My name is Ivan Mathy and I’m an interactive designer and developer. Basically I make pretty things technical and technical things pretty.
My goal is to solve problems fast and creatively, with a range of unusual software, hardware and research solutions. I hack things together quickly to make sure everything works, before obsessing over details and bringing every project to its highest potential.
When away from my computer I have a passion for theme parks, McDonald’s sweet tea and not being able to grow a proper beard.
Over time I’ve had the luck to work with all kinds of people in many countries, ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, from local bars to international music festivals, from humanitarian organizations to high-end luxury brands, from ad agencies to cancer-curing laboratories.
I was faced on each of these projects with a unique challenge, requiring us to design and build together a new solution every time to perfectly fit each situation.
I use a variety of tools, mixing and matching them to best suit each goal in various domains including interactive installations, game design, motion graphics, stage design, mobile apps, and more. I can build things in various programming languages, such as Swift, Typescript, Kotlin, C++, C#, and Javascript.
Every few months I try to explore a new technology, software, or language to keep my skills sharp and up to date. I love experimenting and learning about anything I can get my hands on.
I have a degree in Interactive Design and Visual Communication, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems Equivalent from Fitchburg State University. I also have certifications as a Unity Developer, Unity 3D Artist, and Mobile Developer.
